Road Trip: Day 4 - Exploring the Cinque Terra

Breakfast is again at the Pirate Cafe with Sicilian pastries and Italian ice. Today we have 2 cities left, our home of Vernazza and the city that is the farthest north, Monterosso where we will have dinner.

We hike a bit up the trail between the cities. Kenn is more ambitious than us,
so we find a cafe way up on the bluffs out of the city on the trail. They let us sit in their beach chairs hanging off a ledge under a tree with our feet propped up on the fence that keeps us from falling off. They bring us coffee, and eventually Kenn joins us for lunch. I have no idea how they stay in business in such an obscure location, but it was perfect for us.

We head back and shop a bit and then get cleaned up for dinner. Monterosso is a beach town and it feels a bit like Laguna Beach.
We walk around a bit. This is our dinner at the place our breakfast guy likes. They bring the ravioli out covered with a thin bread that they light on fire. The presentation is memorable. I've never had anyone warm the bread, by lighting it on fire before! After dinner we get Gelato (Italian ice cream) while we are waiting for the train to take us back to Vernazza.
